San Diego kicked off its summer tourist season with a celebration, showcasing the impact of its $22B tourism industry, which supports one in eight jobs in the city. Last year, 31.8M visitors spent $14.3B at local businesses, generating $418M in Transient Occupancy Tax revenue and an additional $1B in sales, property, and other taxes. The industry aims to exceed pre-pandemic visitor numbers this year.
