Queensland police's Taskforce Guardian, launched to tackle youth crime in high-risk areas, has seen a decline in youth offending, with 11 of the state's 15 police districts reporting decreases. Over its first year, the task force charged nearly 1,200 children with more than 4,000 offences, including robbery, sexual assault, and drug and weapon possession. The task force, a rapid response team of specialist investigators and youth justice workers, works alongside local police to target serious repeat offenders and improve community safety.
