Paramount is in talks with producer Simon Kinberg to produce a new "Star Trek" film, set decades before the 2009 movie directed by J.J. Abrams. The film will be directed by Toby Haynes and written by Seth Grahame-Smith. Kinberg, known for his work on the X-Men movies, may also oversee future Star Trek film projects. The film will focus on the creation of the Starfleet and humanity's first contact with alien life.
