Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Parvez Elahi, a close ally of Imran Khan, has been released from Kotlakhpat jail after spending 355 days in detention on corruption charges. The Lahore High Court granted him bail in a case concerning illegal appointments in the Punjab Assembly. Elahi faced accusations of making unlawful appointments in the assembly for grade 17 positions by altering records.
