LPL team owner Tamim Rahman, a British Bangladeshi national, was arrested at Colombo airport on match-fixing allegations a day after the player auction for the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2024. Rahman, the owner of Dambulla Thunders, was detained by the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) for the Prevention of Offences Relating to Sports at the Sports Ministry. He was remanded until May 31 for further investigations.
