In Hyderabad, a car owner paid ₹25.5 lakh ($33,365) for the exclusive registration number '9999' in a Telangana State Road Transport Authority online auction, marking the highest bid amount for a fancy number in the state. The auction generated over ₹43 lakh for other fancy numbers. The Telangana government had recently changed the state's vehicle registration code from TS to TG in March.
