High Court orders reconsideration of Botswana woman's international protection application due to insufficient reasons for rejection.

The High Court has ordered a reconsideration of an international protection application by a Botswana woman who claims her father wants to kill her and use her body parts in a ritual sacrifice. The woman came to Ireland in 2022 and her application was initially rejected by the International Protection Appeals Tribunal (Ipat), which found various aspects of her narrative to be lacking credibility. However, Ms Justice Mary Rose Gearty quashed Ipat's decision due to the grounds for rejecting the application not being properly and fully explained to the woman.
