German author Jenny Erpenbeck and translator Michael Hofmann win International Booker Prize for "Kairos," a novel exploring a complex love story set against the backdrop of East Germany's final years. Erpenbeck and Hofmann, who share the £50,000 ($64,000) prize, were selected from a shortlist of five other works. The prize recognizes outstanding translated fiction published in the UK or Ireland.
