Former NZ Justice Minister Kiri Allan pleaded guilty to careless driving and refusing to accompany a police officer after a car crash in Wellington last July, while over the legal alcohol limit. She was fined $300 for careless driving, ordered to pay $5,296 for damages, and had the charge of refusing to accompany a police officer discharged. Allan stepped down from politics following the incident.
