The emergency department at Dr. Helmcken Memorial Hospital in Clearwater, BC will temporarily close from 6 p.m. on Tuesday until 7 a.m. on Wednesday due to staffing shortages. Patients can access care at alternative facilities during this time, including Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops and 100 Mile House District General Hospital. The closure will not affect other inpatient services at the hospital. This is not the first time the department has temporarily closed, having done so in December for similar reasons.
