Deputy President Paul Mashatile launched the South African National Service Institution (SANSI), a new National Youth Service (NYS) initiative aimed at tackling youth unemployment in South Africa. The SANDF-led NYS program, which will be piloted in the country's poorest districts, is expected to create 100,000 jobs for young people. The initiative is a collaboration between the Department of Defence and the Department of Women, Youth, and Persons with Disabilities (DWYPD).
