BJP expels Bhojpuri singer-turned-politician Pawan Singh for running independently in Bihar's Karakat Lok Sabha constituency against the party's official NDA candidate, Upendra Kushwaha. Singh, who joined the BJP, was asked to withdraw his candidacy but refused, leading to his expulsion. The BJP-led NDA won 39 out of 40 seats in Bihar in 2019, while the Congress secured only one seat.
