B.C. Supreme Court Justice Gordon Weatherill has issued an arrest warrant for disbarred lawyer Hong Guo after she failed to appear at her contempt of court sentencing hearing. Guo was found in contempt of court on October 14, 2022, and ordered up to 40 days in prison for not producing financial documents related to a real estate transaction she participated in. Guo's son claimed she was in Beijing suffering from mental health issues, but the judge expressed doubt about her whereabouts.
