37 people were arrested in West Alabama in two separate human trafficking investigations led by the West Alabama Human Trafficking Task Force. The initial investigation began on February 7, after a suspected human trafficking victim was found at a Tuscaloosa hotel. Cedric Marquis Spencer Jr., was arrested and charged with first-degree human trafficking. A follow-up investigation resulted in 23 arrests, including charges for soliciting prostitution.
