30-year-old teacher, Faith Nwonye, arrested in Anambra for allegedly beating an 8-year-old pupil into a coma. The Anambra Government has permanently closed down the Landmark School in Mgbakwu, Awka North Local Government Area, due to the incident and the school's illegal operations. The teacher was handed over to the police for further investigation following a meeting with the school's proprietor.
