5 people died in a coal mine accident in Heilongjiang Province, northeast China on Monday night. The incident occurred at Xing'an coal mine of Hegang Mining Company, a subsidiary of Heilongjiang Longmay Group. Nine people were trapped, and four were rescued. Preliminary findings suggest the accident was caused by the leakage of liquid carbon dioxide, and further investigation is ongoing.
