Nigerian Federal High Court in Abuja rejects Nnamdi Kanu's bail application, orders DSS to grant him access to legal team and doctor.
The Abuja division of the Nigerian Federal High Court has rejected a fresh bail application by detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu. The judge denied both his request to be transferred to prison custody or placed on house arrest. However, she ordered the Department of State Services (DSS), where he is being held, to grant Kanu access to his legal team, not exceeding five persons on each visiting day. The judge also instructed that Kanu be given a clean place to consult with his lawyers at the DSS detention facility and granted access to a doctor of his choice.
