NASA astronaut James Buchli, first North Dakotan in space, receives Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award.

NASA astronaut James Buchli, a New Rockford native and the first North Dakotan to fly in space, selected as 49th recipient of Theodore Roosevelt Rough Rider Award by North Dakota Governor Burgum. Buchli, a Marine Corps veteran, has completed four space flights, orbited Earth 139 times, and traveled 7.74 million miles. The award honors individuals for exceptional leadership and service.
