The Kenyan government is expediting the Itare Dam project in Nakuru County, aiming to resolve water shortages and mitigate flooding. Part of the 100 Dams Project, the completed dam will have a 27 million cubic meter capacity and provide 100,000 daily cubic meters of water. The project faced a 2019 corruption scandal but has now resumed, with over 70% of unskilled labor sourced locally, creating 10,000 jobs.
