Fed Governor Waller needs more favorable inflation data before considering interest rate reduction.
Fed Governor Christopher Waller stated he needs "several more months" of favorable inflation data before lowering interest rates. Waller noted that the recent April CPI data showed only modest progress toward the central bank's 2% inflation goal. Despite the recent data on prices, Waller said he would need to see more good inflation data before supporting an easing in the stance of monetary policy.
