The European Commission has announced a 12% increase in Schengen visa fees for short-stay visas, effective from June 11, 2024. Adult applicants will see their fees rise from €80 to €90, while children aged 6 to 12 will pay €45 instead of €40. The fee hike is due to factors such as inflation and rising salaries for public workers, as mandated by the Schengen Visa Code, which requires EU visa fees to be reviewed every three years.
