CBP seized $5.4M worth of methamphetamine hidden in papayas at the Texas-Mexico border.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) seized over $5.4M worth of methamphetamine hidden in a shipment of papayas at the Pharr International Bridge, Texas-Mexico border. The drugs were discovered in 369 packages containing 606 pounds of meth after a CBP officer referred the tractor-trailer for a secondary inspection and canines helped detect the drugs. Homeland Security Investigations initiated a criminal investigation.
