Baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr., a Hall of Famer with a 22-year MLB career, will make history as the first baseball player to drive the pace car for the Indianapolis 500. He will lead the field of 33 drivers in the 108th edition of the race on May 26th, driving the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray. This marks the 35th time Chevrolet has paced the race since 1948 and the 21st time overall. Griffey Jr. is one of a few celebrities without auto industry ties to hold this role.
