2,000-year-old human sacrifice evidence found in Dorset by Bournemouth University archaeologists.

Bournemouth University archaeologists found evidence of human sacrifice in Dorset dating back 2,000 years. A woman in her 20s from a prehistoric settlement in Winterborne Kingston was killed by a neck stab, and her burial and animal bone arrangement suggest she was a ritual offering. The study in Antiquities Journal indicates the woman may have been an outsider and the sacrifice could have been for appeasement during uncertain times.
