Wrong-way Chevrolet truck driver causes head-on collision, flees on foot, dies in subsequent hit-and-run.
A wrong-way Chevrolet truck driver on Interstate 8 in La Mesa caused a head-on collision with a Honda Accord around 11:40 pm on Saturday. The driver then tried to flee the scene on foot and was fatally struck by a Ford F-150 truck. The Honda Accord driver was taken to the hospital with major injuries. Investigators have not yet confirmed if drugs or alcohol were a factor for the wrong-way driver.
