Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) is a critical health issue in the US, with deaths rising from 138,000 in 2016 to 178,000 in 2021. Despite effective treatments, less than 10% of those with AUD receive any treatment and only 3% receive medications. Treatments include psychotherapy, support groups, and medications such as disulfiram, naltrexone, and acamprosate. However, awareness and access to these medications remain low.
