On 19th May, a major fire engulfed a quarry in west Belfast, with reports of five lorries set ablaze, some carrying gas canisters. Firefighters from Springfield and Cadogan fire stations responded, using water, compressed air foam systems, and breathing apparatus. The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service suspects the fire was started deliberately, with police also attending the scene and conducting searches.
