Yankunytjatjara poet Ali Cobby Eckermann has won the Book of the Year and the Indigenous Writers' Prize at the NSW Premier's Literary Awards for her verse novel, She Is the Earth. This marks Eckermann's second Book of the Year win, having previously won in 2013 for her verse novel Ruby Moonlight. The 2024 NSW Premier's Literary Awards, established in 1979, took place at the NSW State Library and kicked off the Sydney Writers' Festival.
