New non-invasive spinal cord injury treatment ARC-EX therapy, involving programmed electrical stimulation, shows significant improvement in hand and arm function for chronic patients, according to a global study published in Nature Medicine. The study, conducted at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, showed 72% of trial participants experienced improvement in upper limb and hand function, blood pressure, temperature control, and bladder and bowel function. One patient even regained the ability to play guitar after years of living with spinal cord injury.
