NHTSA closes preliminary review on Tesla Model X seat belt issues after Tesla's recall.
The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has closed its preliminary review into seat belt issues on over 100,000 Tesla Model X vehicles, after Tesla issued a recall to fix the problem. NHTSA opened the probe in March 2023 after receiving two complaints of front seat belt failures. Tesla filed a safety recall in July 2023 and had updated procedures in June to address the issue.
