Multi-million dollar plans for the Clarendon Hotel in Newcastle have been lodged, aiming to extend the pub through Wheeler Place. The Stevens Group, owners of the hotel, bought the Fred Ash building and Bennett and Wood building, previously housing the Blue Door cafe. The renovations, not carried out on this scale for 25 years, will include a new cocktail bar and outdoor dining facility facing Wheeler Place, all connected to the existing hotel.
