A national Newspoll after the May 14 budget showed a 52-48% lead for Labor over the Coalition, with a one-point gain for Labor since the previous Newspoll four weeks ago. Prime Minister Anthony Albanese's net approval rose to net zero, with 47% satisfied and 47% dissatisfied, while Opposition Leader Peter Dutton's net approval increased to -12. Albanese's lead as better PM over Dutton widened to 52-33%.
