2 killed in LaPorte County motorcycle crash: A Can-Am Spyder motorcycle left the roadway in the 3500 block of N. US-35, collided with a tree, landscaping, and boulders before coming to rest in a vegetable garden. The driver, 58-year-old Steven Dabney, was taken to the hospital and later died, while the passenger, 59-year-old Anna Thomas, was pronounced dead at the scene. Both were from Kingsford Heights, Indiana.
