21 years after U.S.-led invasion, Iraq struggles to recover looted antiquities as the world marks International Museum Day. Iraq, with its ancient civilization, has abundant archaeological treasures but during the U.S. invasion and chaos in 2003, thieves plundered priceless artifacts from Baghdad's Iraq Museum. Archaeologist Adel al-Mubarak said U.S. forces were stationed near the museum but failed to protect it.
