98-year-old WWII veteran Ken Hay, who served in the 4th Dorset infantry regiment, shared his experience of being captured as a POW just weeks after D-Day. During a night patrol on July 8, 1944, Hay was captured and forced to work in coal mines in Poland. He recalled feeling dread and fear upon his capture, and his first thoughts were of his mother, whom he was reunited with 10 months later after his harrowing ordeal.
