7th-grader Isaac Tessaro, a student at L'Ecole Harwood in Vernon, won silver at the 41st annual French Immersion competition, Concours D'art Oratoire 2024 held at Simon Fraser University. The event featured 17 school districts from B.C. and the Yukon. Tessaro delivered a well-researched, grammatically correct speech in French about the effects of animal agriculture on climate change.
