Friday afternoon, a runaway boat with a full fuel tank on Portland's Willamette River was secured by a joint effort of Portland Fire & Rescue, Multnomah County River Patrol, and the US Coast Guard. The boat had been running in circles after its operator fell in the water; he had reportedly slipped while operating the tiller. After several attempts, Fireboat 6 successfully lassoed the boat, shutting off the engine and towing it to safety.
