Oak Mountain State Park in Alabama has completed a $13M renovation, funded by bond issue and Shelby County Commission, marking its first major overhaul since opening in the 1970s. The upgraded campground features ADA-compliant sites, new bathhouse, meeting facility, dog park, and playground. It's part of efforts to modernize underfunded campgrounds in Alabama, which had spent less on parks and recreation than any other state on a per capita basis.
