1.2 million NSW drivers regain demerit points in safe driving trial; Central Coast sees most benefit.
1.2 million NSW drivers have earned back one demerit point as part of a government trial rewarding safe driving. Lake Macquarie has the 8th highest number of motorists benefiting, with 33,815 having a demerit point removed for remaining offence-free during the trial's first year. The Central Coast has seen the most benefit, with nearly 55,000 drivers receiving demerit point relief. The trial has been extended for another 12 months.
