Labour proposes cutting NHS waiting lists with evening, weekend surgeries, staff pooling, and £1.1bn for out-of-hours staff pay.

Labour proposes cutting NHS waiting lists by introducing evening and weekend surgeries, pooling staff and resources, and offering appointments at nearby hospitals. £1.1bn will be spent to pay staff extra for out-of-hours work, aiming for 40,000 weekly operations, scans, or appointments. More than half of England's hospitals close operating theatres at weekends, with 176 procedures performed on Saturdays and Sundays vs 795 on weekdays.
