2-hour Bay Bridge closure due to grass fire on Yerba Buena Island; 3 lanes reopened by 4:30 pm.
The eastbound lanes of the Bay Bridge were closed for 2 hours as fire crews battled a grass fire that broke out along Interstate 80 on Saturday afternoon. The fire began on Yerba Buena Island and three of the five lanes on the bridge between San Francisco and Yerba Buena Island had been reopened by 4:30 pm. Traffic delays were expected, and drivers were advised to use alternative routes.
