An elderly woman had part of her finger bitten off by a horse at Pimlico Race Course during the Preakness Stakes undercard. The woman, in an electric wheelchair, was trying to feed a lead pony carrots. The incident occurred when the woman did not fully open her hand, allowing the horse to bite off the proximal bone of one of her middle fingers. The woman was helped by security forces at the venue but was later taken to Siani Hospital in Baltimore.
