David DePape, the man convicted of attacking then-House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's husband Paul with a hammer, will face sentencing in federal court for the attempted kidnapping of a federal official and assault on an immediate family member of a federal official. Prosecutors have requested a 40-year prison term for DePape, who admitted to breaking into Pelosi's San Francisco home on Oct. 28, 2022, intending to hold Pelosi hostage and attack her if she lied to him.
