Alstom secures £8.8m contract to refurbish c2c's 74 Class 357 Electrostar trains over two years.

Global smart and sustainable mobility company, Alstom, has secured an £8.8m contract with UK train operator c2c to refurbish its Class 357 Electrostar fleet of 74 four-car units. The project at Alstom's Ilford depot over two years will involve repairing corrosion and repainting all units, creating 25 new roles. Water-based paint solutions will be used to ensure safety standards and sustainability. The refurbished trains will feature the look of c2c's new Class 720 trains.
