West Bengal Congress chief, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, opposes an alliance with Trinamool Congress (TMC) and its leader Mamata Banerjee due to concerns over her political ethics. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has clarified that the party's high command, not Chowdhury, will decide on any alliance. Despite this, Chowdhury maintains that he cannot support Banerjee, as he believes her political ambitions could harm the Congress party in the state.
