5th-grader beats Des Moines Superintendent Ian Roberts, former Olympian, in a footrace.

Iowa superintendent and former Olympian, Des Moines Superintendent Ian Roberts, competed in a footrace against a 5th-grader. Despite being a 47-year-old Guyanese runner who competed in the 2000 Summer Olympic Games, Roberts was bested by the young student. The race initially involved only Roberts and a lucky second-grader, but grew as more students joined in. The entire student body gathered at the track to watch the unexpected race.
