18 NZ students from the southern North Island competed in the annual "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition, winning spots in global finals and promoting cultural ties.

18 students from New Zealand's North Island's southern region competed in the annual "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition, featuring a theme speech, talent show, and improvisation quiz. Winners Rodda Lachlan (high school) and Phoebe Davey (university) won spots in the global finals in China. Chinese Embassy Education Counsellor Tang Yun encouraged students to explore Chinese culture and foster friendship between New Zealand and China.
