Mother-son duo scammed Manhattan public school for disabled children, stealing nearly $8,500.

A mother-son duo, Marlene Delgado and Nicholas Koukaras, working for NYC's Department of Education, scammed a Manhattan public school for disabled children out of nearly $8,500. Delgado, a school secretary, authorized payments to her son, a substitute paraprofessional, on 55 days when he failed to sign in or show up. The Special Commissioner of Investigation for city schools revealed this in a recent report.
