Indigenous Arizona family sues CBP for unjustified death of Raymond Mattia by border agents on tribal land.
Indigenous Arizona family of Raymond Mattia, killed by border agents on tribal land, has filed a lawsuit against the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) for the unjustified death. The family seeks justice, monetary damages, relief in general, compensatory damages, and punitive damages, alleging that body camera footage shows Mattia posed no threat. The Border Patrol agents were not charged as the Department of Justice (DOJ) stated the use of force did not rise to federal criminal civil rights violation level.
