Environmental group Standing Trees sues US Forest Service over commercial logging approval in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest, alleging violation of federal law.

Environmental group Standing Trees is suing the US Forest Service over approval of 3,000 acres of commercial logging in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest. The lawsuit alleges that the Forest Service violated federal law by not adequately examining potential environmental impacts or exploring less harmful alternatives. The two projects, Tarleton Integrated Resource Project and Peabody West Integrated Resource Project, will open up the area to commercial logging and construct 11 miles of permanent roads.
